Plan B gets an A+?

According to today's news, the Plan B "morning-after" pill has been extremely popular in the drugstores that dispense it. I'm happy that there is an easily accessible alternative for women who are, G-d forbid, victims of brutal sexual assault, or in situations where a condom breaks or some other true emergency occurs. But are people using Plan B as more than a backup plan? Is there irresponsible, regret-it-the-next-morning sex happening out there? Sex can have serious consequences, ladies and gents. Even if you take a pill to prevent pregnancy, you can't undo the effects of sexually transmitted disease, or more importantly, the emotions that may surface during your romp. We aren't quite to the state of Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind yet, where you can just erase bad experiences from your memory and live like they never happened.

Romance can be a beautiful thing. I love old-fashioned romantic gestures like flowers, compliments, phone calls just to say he's thinking of me and can't wait to see me again. I like it when men open doors for me. And I can't imagine berating someone for complimenting me on my hair or clothes, although this apparently happened to a friend of the opposite sex recently. I saw him the other night, after I had blown my hair out (normally I'm a curly girl, so it was quite a difference). I asked him whether he didn't notice anything different. He said, yes, your hair is straight. We walked to the car and I asked him what he thought. He said he liked it a lot, but his father's girlfriend once screamed at him for commenting on her hair, so he doesn't make anything but a neutral comment about hair these days. Poor guy.
